This club can be used for a fairway bunker shot especially when the bunker has a high lip that requires a high lofted club. Around the green this club can be used out of the sand when the ball is sitting on top of the sand and is not buried. You use a simple chipping stroke with an open stance.
The Chipper Shot over the Sand Trap;
Your within 10 to 40 yards from the green but you have to hit over a sand trap to reach the green. Here you use an open stance with a half backswing and full follow through. Over the trap the ball will fly and land softly on the green.
The Chip Shot from Greenside;
Your ball is too far off the green to putt. There is some high grass between you and the green. You keep your feet close together with your weight on the forward foot and use a putting stroke to gently send the ball over the high grass unto the green to the hole.
